driving w/ out charge connection

is it cool to drive around with just mani/turbo/dp and oil lines for a day or two? i might have to run to the store a few times for a part or two or if i take more then 1 day to install i'd need transportation.

Why is that bad?

bad idea, your turbo will end up spinning way harder than as if there were a load on it, and potentially it could be damaging.

Re: driving w/ out charge connection

dont quote me but i think your turbo "over spools" and get unbalanced or somthing like that....umm smart people its time for you to step in ;D

The only time i'd run a car like that is on the way to the muffler shop to get IC piping made, and even then take it super easy.. I think like hooking up the turbo to an air filter or something might help a bit cuz its having to push air through the filter, causing some resistance and might keep it from overspinning.

2 ways I can think of getting around this problem... One is to put a restrictor on the outlet and as already mentioned open the WG. Even so you will want to take it very easy. I've run turbos before with blown off charge pipes and never had a problem. I know someone who ran an entire 7km stage with a charge pipe broken from a rock. This was with a 38mm inlet restrictor (rally car) but the turbo did not suffer any dammage.

as mentioned earlier, remove WG first
then you'll need 2 filters.. one for your intake manifold since its not connected to your turbo anymore
and one for your turbo, so it doesn't get damaged cuz its probably sitll gona spool a bit

you will still damage it doing it that way. just leave the charge pipes hooked up and unhook the wg
