drilling out turbo manifold?

hey I have a b series turbo manifold that I'm in the process of drilling out so it will fit d series as well. a couple of the holes had enough metal that I was able to drill them out no problem. some of the other holes are to close and there isn't enough metal for the drill bit to bite into. so I'm stuck using a dremal and a rotary carbide bit,it's cutting but it's slow as ----. is there another type of bit I can use that will cut a little faster? I never relised stainless was so fricken hard :-X
thanks,
B

you'll have to do a bit of port matching

Re:drilling out turbo manifold?

ya, Iwas lookin at that too, but that shouldn't take me nearly as long as it's taken me to get these holes lined up 8)

Re:drilling out turbo manifold?

are some carbide cutters better then others? I just went to home depot and picked one up for my dremel. (15$!)it works but the metal it shaves off is really fine like dust almost. I run the dremel on low speed,to keep it cool :-\
