drain fitting and JB weld

i just put my drain fitting in my oil pan but the hole was too big from the old steathmode fittings and the new ones are smaller. so i put it in and put a nut at the end and JB welded the ---- out of it. will that hold? i have used JB on just about everythign that i break/fix and it has always done good but i just don't know about the oil pan. don't know if the hot oil will affect it.

I have seen a lot of people add a little extra sealant with JB weld. I think you will be okay as long as the nut is holding most of the load.

yeah the nut is holding most of the load but i just used the JB to seal it up so it wont leak, just didn't knwo if the JB would hold with the oil getting hot.

jb weld can take 600 degrees. But i wouldnt say its the best sealant, why not use some actual sealant if the nut is holding it in place already

Re:drain fitting and JB weld

the hole was a tiny bit bigger then then fittings so i figured JB should seal it good.

JB Weld is the jism of the gods! Its good stuff. My oil return is JB Welded all up and has held fine for at least 6 months.
