Default Downpipe Fitment

I know a guy selling a downpipe, and it just so happens i need one too. His car has a d16 but he uses a t25 turbo, I on the other hand will be using a d16 but with an IHI rhb5.
He told me that I can use his downpipe for my setup, I will only need to have the appropriate flange made. Is this true? Because to me it would seem that not every downpipe will be the same, but if I can indeed use his downpipe it would be tremendously convenient.

ya you could just use another flange for you turbo and get it welded to the dp, but it would prob look like ---- from cutting and hacking, just get the flange and start mocking it up, it looks alot more difficult then it really is.

Maybe i'll just get some flex pipe, install the turbo and manifold, and use the flex pipe to connect from the turbo to the exhaust. Then I'll just reinstall my headers and drive over to a place that can quickly bend me a pipe to look like the flex pipe.
Then ill have a friend weld on the flanges and ill be set. Sounds good.
Now if i could only figure out the damn injector installation. God i hate electrical stuff.

He is saying that he is gonna mock it up with a piece of flexible pipe. Then use that as a template for a guy to make a bend for him.

IMO that is too much work. A DP is only 2 bends really. One ~90* at the outlet to kick it down/over, then a 90 under the oil pan. That is really it. Buy a single 180* bend and you are done. You will need a little straight section, but there is only 2 bends.

the way i did it, i made the dp then ordered a flex pipe off ebay, im going to order 2 2.5 inch exhaust bolt flanges and just weld on to my dp, the other to one end of the flex pipe, and the opposite end of the flex pipe to the existing exhaust underneither my car. easy as cake.
