what is the easiest way to make a downpipe? would it be bad to use flexible exhaust piping to join the downpipe to my exhaust? j/w

some peopel don't use downpipe so don't get one or go to local shop they can make them from mandrel or aluminum

you would never want to use aluminum. Go get a cheap welder and make one yourself.

i actually have a welder, im just lazy and cheap. ;D. there is a shop about 3 blocks from my house, i was thinking about driving it down to the shop with no downpipe and having them weld up something. another option i have is having my buddy that has a 9 second street driven nova make me a flange (he works at a machine shop) and help me weld up the downpipe...i think that would be the best option.

i have another question, i saw some do it yourself kits that route the exhaust from the wastegate back into the downpipe, is this necessary? can i just have it go into the engine compartment?

I am going to be making my downpipe for my 14b here in the next couple days. I plan on running a 2 inch 90deg bend out of the wastgate hole and dumping it staight down to the ground. Last time I made one plumbing the wastgate back into the 2.5in exhaust was a pain. Ive never personally heard an open wastgate dump but I figure if Im at full boost i wont be worried about my exhaust being to loud. ;)
