Ok i relize most of you playas out there are runnin with turbo kits and fo sho i am all for that. but i got a question about superchargers so dont hate. i was jsut wondering if a supercharger would work better on a car that doesnt make enough boost better then a turbo kit. before you ask the car is carburated and of course it is a ----- of an engine.

turbos create more hp do they not and if im not mistaken superchargers do the same what i was askin is would it be worth putting a supercharger on the car if a turbo kit has already beel ruled a no go

Anyways, yeah i know but still all i wanted was a lil help and if i wasa lil rough in my explanation then im sorry but cmon guys i guess ill put it like this.
I am most likley getiing a 1989 Honda Prelude with a bastard of an engine also known as the b20a5. it has a 95mm stroke and isnt fuel injected. What i am asking is seeing ah how a turbo wont work so well on it, will a supercharger work well or will it have the same results.

 

So what supercharger are you going to use?It seems like you think you cant use a turbo couse of the carb.If you use a centrifical supercharger wich is the same as a turbo just without the exhoust housing(it had a pully in its place) you will still need to make a custom intake to bolt up to the carb.I dont know if they make an eaton supercharger for that engine.If they did it would replace the whole intake manifold and be just like the Jackson racing supercharger.I personally would never use a supercharger.Turbos are much more efficient.
