Donald's CDM Anodized MBC Question

I was clueless on how to hook up this MBC and Donald was nice enough to send me instructions.

I can't get the WG to open at all. I know the main part of it is a bleeder, so I set the bleeder to not bleed at all.

There's also the ball-spring section. Should I be able to blow (by mouth) past the ball at all? It seems like an impenetrable force. I took the ball/spring assembly apart and it looks like it's supposed to.

Went for a ride and shot way past 10psi (its 5psi with the gate hooked up normally).

In the instructions, it says to turn the adjuster all the way out then back in 4 turns but at that point it bleeds out way too much to make sense. I tried it anyways and got way too much boost.

Any help appreciated.

OK so I removed the ball and spring from the ball/spring assembly and was able to control boost by using just the bleeder. Guess I can cut a few coils off of the spring and see if that helps.

It looks like it's taking more than 10psi to move the ball.

Yeah I'm having the same problems. WG to charge pipe I was getting and holding 8psi. When I hook the MBC up and crank it to minimum I get nothing less than 15psi. I was shooting for 11, since that's how high my map goes, but it always shoot way past 11 to 15. So I hooked the WG back up to the pipe with no MBC again for now.

interesting. Try removing the ball and spring. It's not an ideal solution but it'll probably get you the boost you want.

One thing I noticed - the ball and spring definitely DO help for faster spool, unfortunately though the spring is too tough or something.

i had the same problem with a similare type of MBC. i ended up putting a turbo xs bleed type rather than the ball and spring type. now i can get whatever i want

The must be stuck on the "NOG" setting.

For real I'm only at 'nig' as far as my map sensor and clutch are concerned. I need to step it up to 'nog,' perhaps even getting a miniram or log and a 20g mitsu turbo.

So you take the ball and spring out but how do you control boost? Turn the knob the same way or turn it the opposite direction (like switch the directions for turning up the boost and turning down)?

same here. I got the stock nig fuel pump and don't want to go lean. Yeah I removed the ball and spring from the tee and then started with the dial all the way out. 3-4 clicks to teh + rotation gave me about 2-3psi.

Oh yeah fuel pump too. I should probably get one of those too lol. I'm at 10:1afr at 8psi though so I'm pretty good there.

Oh you took the spring and ball out of the T, I thought you meant there was one in the MBC part. I'll try that pronto.
