Re:does the ebay manual boost controllers really work?
The only problem with lenghing the rod is that *if* you make the rod too long the wastegate "puck" with rest off the turbo and cause INSANE lag.
Most the time you can find a happy medium. |

HTS-2000 aluminum brazing rod Watch the video.. It looks like cool stuff. I've never actually used it, but for the $75 it will cost to get some, I'd consider that over the other alternatives. All you need is a torch and you can fix it yourself. |
Re:does the ebay manual boost controllers really work?
that rod stuf is very cool but it will not fix your problem. think about how much force it takes to move your car to 90 miles an hour. where does that force come from the engine, more specifically force from the piston and where is the equal and opposite force from pushing the piston down. taa daa it's pushing the head up.

what about a helicoil?

Re:does the ebay manual boost controllers really work?
Helicoils work if you do it properly. They are supposedly stronger than the original hole. You're going to need to get the engine out of the car probably because helicoils involve drilling and tapping a hole made specifically for the helicoil insert. Then you use a special tool to insert the coil. Good luck.
