i dont but im thinking about it to make it look cleaner and keep it secure. Not necessary imho though

Not sure what kind of support you're referring to, but I don't think it's neccessary. You want to have a little "play" so when your motor rocks back and forth it doesn't start ripping ---- appart. I would think.

you could use bushings like you would with a cold-air

I agree with the white guy.

I ziptied mine to hold it centered in the hole it runs thru at the fender, but only so it wouldnt wear a hole in it.
