do i need a flexpipe on downpipe or is my spring bolts ok?
ok the stock 98 civic hatch has these springs with bolts that connect the cat to the stock exhaust manifold, can i still use the same setup with my turbo/DP or do i need a flexpipe..

All cars have those.They are ther to dampen the vidration.If they werent there your exhaust would sound like it had marbels in it.I over tightened mine and it vibrated alot and sounded like ----.When you get your down pipe they should weld on a cat flange anny ways.you should be able to reuse bolts and springs.

there also for expansion when everything in the exhaust heats up.
u shouldnt ever have a vibration u can feel from your exhaust unless its touching cause they are on rubber mounts.. |

so no flex needed right, just keep it like stock with the spring bolts eh? ;D

you should be fine with the bolts but i did a whole custom exhaust and used a flex connector in there. the turbo wont cause the engine to move any farther than stock.
