do i need coolant lines?

I've got a Garrett T25 off of my friends old TSI. I was wondering if I need to hook up the coolant lines or would I be able to get away with not hooking them up for a while?

They are not necessary, but they certainly don't hurt. If you feel you can install the coolant lines and not have any problems I'd just install them to be safe. I tried installing them on my t3 but had nothing but leaks. So, I took the coolant off, but everything is fine with just the oil.

Coolant isn't needed - but it will probably just about double the life of your turbo...t25s arn't that expensive so its you own call!

you can definetely get away with it,

some ppl have run into overheating problems when trying to hook up the coolant/water lines..

so i'd say dont worry about it,

BUT if you do care about your turbo living for years upon years to come, then it'd be a good idea..
but who ends up rockin the same turbo setup for more than 2 years anyways??? your turbo will definetely last for a good while with just oil to cool it(which does do a good job by the way just not as good as water and oil).

It's easy to hook up just unhook the coolant lines form the throttle body and run/extend them to the turbo. The only reason you'd want water to the throttle body is if you drive in REALLY cold weather, other than that they hurt instead of helping

Thanks guys. I think I'll just leave the coolant lines off for now. Maybe I'll put them on if I get ambitious...
