DIY turbo gaskets

well i have my std mani-adapter plate-t3 setup going and i have the gasket for the std manifold to the plate. what i need is to make a custom gasket because my t3 inlet is custom ported to match the adapter plate.

my question is what is a good material to use to make a gasket. ive heard some people use sheet metal as a gasket but im not sure. would copper gasket sheet work?

copper is better. i couldnt find sheets of it so i bought 1' of 2" copper pipe, cut it in half and flattened it out. the pipe is also thicker than the sheet, which helped seal some imperfections between my turbo and adapter plate ( i have a volvo exh housing that has a funky indent that i welded and grinded flat) Use a pair of tin snips to cut it to shape, then a file if you wanna make it look pretty. Ill post a pic of my dp gasket soon, it looks factory

You can buy copper sheets at a hobby shop that sells RC planes/cars/boats. it comes in 20 guage I think, and it also should be enough to make a gasket from.
