DIY injector testing and cleaning

Is there a DIY test/cleaner for injectors (namely DSM 450s)? I know I can send them to a shop to have them tested and cleaned, but since this is HMT, and we often use junk yard injectors I was wondering if this is something I could do at home without fancy equipment.

So, if anybody does this at home, let me know, otherwise, I guess sending them to a shop is the only way.

thanx

On a diesel cleaning the injectors is easy. Just dump some transmission fluid in the fuel tank. ;D

I don't know how your going to do it easily on a gasoline injector cheaply with simple tools though.

Sending your injectors off to get cleaned is more than just that. They stick them on a bench and look at spray patterns and flow volume differences between the group. Then they run solution through them and stick em in a supersonic bath...all the technical jargon that goes into that means it just isnt a DIY process.

After cleaning they flow them again...if they need to be put back in the bath a couple times they do that.

Nothing you are going to do at home is going to give you any sort of measure or peace of mind. So either send them out or just run them.

That link should be stickied!

I agree that sending injectors to a shop is best, but it’s always good to know a DIY alternative for those times when you need b00st right now! ;D

This may be a little expensive for the HMT'er but there are a few tools here to clean injectors, If you do it often enough one may not be such a bad deal.
