There's all different sizes for the T3/T4. The more popular one to use is the T3/T4e and you can get digfferent trim sizes for whatever your power needs are. I'm running a T3/T4e .57trim on my 2000LS and it starts to spool about 3000 and will hit full boost by 4k. Great sized turbo for an LS IMO. I also liked the T3 .60/.48 I used to have. Spooled a little sooner but it packed a nice punch for street driving.

60 trim or larger, dont be a pansy.

60 trim would worok great as well but for a horsepower goal of 300-350 he'd be more than happy with the 57 trim.

wouldnt the 60 trim spool alot later than the 57 trim?...and how much PSI should i be boosting on a stock b18b1 to get 350 hp...and around 250+ lbs of torque...and if not stock what should i do to my bottom end?

Re: difference between t3/t4 vs t3/t04e??

Yeah the 60 trim would spool later, but would be capable of more power. Your pushing it looking for 350whp on a stock engine and that turbo, but it can be done. It's hard to say what psi your turbo would need to run in order to get that 350. Alot of it has to do with the tuning and other aspects of your turbo setup. Definately get that thing dynotuned properly. If your planning on building your block/bottom end to handle the 350whp+, look into some forged rods and forged pistons. If you've got the money, sleeve your block, but if not the stock sleeves have handled 500+ hp. I'm not saying it lasted long, but again, tuning is going to be very important.

edit> Also, you'll find that the LS head is going to restrict you of airflow as compaired to a Vtec head. If your serious about staying with the LS head, then I'd look into a ported and polished head, good set of cams (Crower makes some specific for LS turbo setups) and a good intake manifold to increase the airflow. You could probably reach your power goals with the stock head but it's going to be tricky.

you sure to really know your stuff..do you have AIM? so this n00b can ask you some more questions before i go off and start buying the parts...my aim is "phantomx samurai"....thanks

Eh, I'm just an LS turbo fan myself ;)

Re: difference between t3/t4 vs t3/t04e??

so you're saying i should go LS/Vtec first...? would a b16a head do any goods..and if i go ls/vtec what bottom end and top end mods should i do while im at it to get it ready for boost...im planning to do this during summer...and should i keep my LS tranny for the longer gear ratios?...once again thanks for the replies

No no, I never said to switch to LS-Vtec. It can be done with the LS but your going to probably need to do some modifications to get there. It would be easier to achieve your power goals with an LS-Vtec, but thats up to you.

Hi All! Sorry for getting a bit off the topic here, but I'm going FI in my SOTCK b16a, and like to get a - T3/TO4E TURBO / EX:T3 49,5 RT:TO4E 52,5 / (turb).63 (comp).50

I'd like to know if this is a good choice, I want no more than 260whp.

Thanks!

If you want no more than 260whp just get a junkyard turbo in good condition. A T3 with 60/63 or 48/60 would probably be enough to reach your goal.

As for the LS turbo setup, 350 is a really high goal, you're going to have to do some serious modifications to reach that, especially with an LS head. If I were aiming at that goal I would definately get the B16 head. If you've got the money go ahead and get pistons, rods, and then sleeve it. An aftermarket intake manifold can be beneficial as well, I've seen some really good gains.

A good website to check out is www.importbuilders.com and www.importreview.com

They have a dyno graph of a built b16 putting out 324whp on 10psi (pump gas).

Re: difference between t3/t4 vs t3/t04e??

it would take me about 14 psi to make 350 whp on my gsr... on a ls probably 16 to 18 psi ... your stockinternals will not handle that. neither will mine.

id shoot for 275ish to 300 whp max. that would still be 14 psi ish for you.
