turbos are universal. The ones for diesel's are usually not as efficient and have too large of turbine A/R's

Diesel turbos also tend to be laggy. In stock form they often run 30 PSI and in a lot of the larger ones they're expected to drive 200,000 miles under boost. So all the components are heavy duty. Heavy means a lot of inertia and lots of lag.

with the amount of air a large diesel engine displaces, it would be impossible for a small 4 cylinder to spool the turbo.

It would be something like *MEGA* lag up until about 13,000 rpm, and then 30psi :P

I will be running Holset turbo from Dodge Ram turbo deisel on my stock b16 only because of the great deal that I got on it. I will be at the bottom of the efficiency of this turbo with a stock motor but I will be building the motor eventually and it should work out pretty well for what I want. I'm not looking for instant boost, so a laggy turbo is ok with me. I'll atleast give it a try and let you guys know how it works out.

I sold one of those to a guy on this board. He was going to put it on a B also. I have tried to get ahold of him to see how it worked, but he hasn't responded.

Well yes we have astablished that a diesel turbo is big and laggy for a little 4cyl! but what about a high reving V8?
How big are the turbo's that the drag V8's use?
Could this be another getto turbo project possibility?
