diagnosis?? what is it caused by

my built engine started smokin alil the othewr day. but it runs hard has 180 180 180 179 compression nymbers and only puffs when i chop the throttle. im thinking valve stem seals. i made 251.9 hp with it like this so im thinking its not the lower end. i have a z6 head going on and a new hg to eliminate those 2 possibilities...hmmm while on the dyno and i examined the exhaust. it was clearish with a hint of soot from richness under full boost but once i let off it smoked

What colour smoke? If it's bluish, it could be a valve seal. If it's blackish, it's too much gas. I have noticed that cars with bad valve seals smoke even under normal/slow driving condition, even while idling.

Maybe it's smoking from all the "hot" parts you have on your car, scammer. :D

it sounds like valve stem seals, but honestly how often do we see valve stem seals go out on hondas? nothing like dsms. Unless the head has really high milage, you dont change your oil and the seals are crusty as ---- they will leak. Rings are a posiblity, but I really wouldnt look there, My guess is going to be the turbo, reguardless if its new or not I'd check there, pull the downpipe off and inspect the exhaust wheel to see if there is any signs of oil burning, it will usually be wet. I am assuming the return is above the oil pan level, (decently sized) no kinks and isnt overclocked?, and the feed line isnt to big.

Just some thoughts,

Maybe it's your 3:1 air/fuel ratio? :P

I would try a leak down test to see if your rings seated. I have seen many engines with good comp that had 30 percent or more leakage ;).
