Dia of pipe on boosted Engines.

Guys what Dia Piping would you recomend for a 1.3 Ltr engine runing 20 PSI of boost.

I did some numbers and it would seem 2 or 2.25" would sufice.

I started out building my own Exhaust. Got from the Turbo one 90 Deg bend. THen down then another 90 under the car then 1 foot to the first flange.

Ran out of Funds / Steam and just hooked up to the rest of the stock Exhaust.
Now want to go all the way.

If you cant recomend a number.
Can you at least tell me the cc size of the bosted engines you guys are runing the 3" exhausts for.
Are they 1.6 or 2ltr engines.

yes, the bigger exhaust the better. 2.5" supports alot of power but 3.0" will support more and youll make better numbers.

Is this a Rotary or piston engine?

If it's a rotary I would go 3" at the very least and preferrably 4" if running 20psi.

Susuki 1.3 L 4 Cylinder 8 Valve SOHC

Worst case thinking Ill just dump whats left of the stock Exhaust when runing on the strip.

3" just seems over kill for me on this setup. Plus It complicates the building of the exhaust a bit.

2.25 will be fine. Usually try and match your TB or the intercooler outlets to give a rough idea on the size. But 2.25 will move more than enough air for a 1.3L

Please don't use your crackpipe as a reference to reccomend chargepipe sizing to people

I agree 2.25" will move enough air for a 1.3 liter motor. I've heard some guy's boosting D's that go from 2.25 to 2.5" piping make like 15whp more just changing the piping diameter... whether it's true or not I don't know but....??

With too much diam in your charge piping won't you lose your charge velocity and end up having problems?
