Default determining if internal wastegate is good?

Hey how do you know if your internal wastegate is good? Is there a way you can test it? Also how do you know what your wastegate is set at for boost? I have a TCO5 turbo.

hook up a hand held vac pump to the vac line on the wastegate. And pump it up till the wastegate arm is fully open ,what ever psi the vac pump shows is what the wastegate is set to.Or u can hook it up to a compressor with a t piece & a boost guage, and only leave like 20psi in the lines so u can kink the compressor line to stop it.dont have to much boost or youll screw your boost gauge and possible your wastegate.

If your wastegate arm doesnt move when psi is applyd, then its fucked

don't hook up a vacuum...

the actuator runs off POSITIVE PRESSURE, so that line that goes from the acutuator to the charge piping will make the wastegate open when enough pressure pushes the diaphram on the actuator therefore opening the gate.

so put a compressor and try to get one that can use 5psi to 20... usually stock turbos open around 6-10 psi... mine does it around 7.5 or so

thats what i ment, thats why i used 'psi' u cant create negative pressure with a compressor.and a vac pump can produce negative and positive pressure -30 to 30psi
