Ok so i took off the exhaust housing to clean and such as i just got this turbo from ebay it's a t3 from a volvo well now with it off , there is like an upside down cone shaped thin metal spacer between the bearing section and the impeller this is lose and twists around, it dosent have any vertical play i was wondering if this i bad, the impller turns but it take a bit of force it has no play at all i was also wonderign if it should spin with no resitance ... thanks
Blaast does solid work, for a really good price.
When he does rebuilds, it's not just with generic kits, he actually specs out the right bearings you'll need and you get a 6 month warranty.
I'm sending my T3 in shortly.

Yeah, just buying a center section or a cheesy ebay rebuilt kit will NOT do the trick.
Shooting new parts at the turbo is probably not what's needed. it's just needs some professional love and care. (sandblasting, ploishing, shaft straightening, balancing, and of course, the right bearings and piston rings)
THe loose conical plate is normal. It's the turbine heat shroud.
I would be pleased to take care of it and i can modify that volvo turbine with that stupid round recess in it into a real standard T3 one too....
