Damaged GT2560R wheels

Hey guys,
So I am working on building a pair of turbos for my Z32. I was able to pick up a pair of cheap GT2560R of modified for a Z32 application (modified housings). However one came with a blown CHRA from what I believe was oil starvation. The bearing cage inside of the turbo fell apart and allowed the turbine and compressor wheels to barely make contact with the housings. I went ahead and took measurements of the compressor and turbine wheels to see how much was removed by the housings. The compressor wheel had about .005-.007" taken off the diameter. A slight burr is on the edge of the blades that is around .375" long (where the wheel made contact). https://www.homemadeturbo.com/attach...1&d=1404794363 The turbine wheel had about .01-.015" taken off the diameter. A slight burr is on the edge of the blades that is around .5" long (where the wheel made contact). https://www.homemadeturbo.com/attach...1&d=1404794878 https://www.homemadeturbo.com/attach...1&d=1404794878 My question is, do you think these wheels are reusable if I was to clean up the blade edges and balance the rotating assembly? Would the sightly smaller diameter greatly effect the turbos performance? I don't know how critical .002-.007" is to housing/wheel clearance. Also I would be using one of the ball bearing turbo rebuild kits available online (ebay being one of them). Do these kits actually work? I am guessing garrett does not produce these kits. If I can't use these wheels, does anyone have a GT2560R for sale? These are the 69F00 version. |
If you can get it balanced, it would probably be OK.

Have you made some experience in the meantime with these rebuild bb's?
