d16z6 vf28 and a 75 shot
so i got this vf28 its a little guy but it does the trick i got it set at 8 psi right now from what i read the turbo maxes out about 200whp but i was wondering when i spray i dont think i'm getting the 75 hp worth. i think its becouse the exhaust side of the turbo is too restrictive to flow n2o going threw the motor as well. does this sound about right or maybe i'm a crack head and my ass dyno is broke.

Re: d16z6 vf28 and a 75 shot
You are a crack head.
It's probably going super rich and the engine is choking on fuel. I really never ever wanted to ask you or your brother this question, but... what's your engine management situation? |

Re: d16z6 vf28 and a 75 shot
Haha, whoo boy. Answer pls:
How exactly is the shot getting fuelled? Does the car feel like it's fading in and out of power, almost a light trailer hitching? |

Re: d16z6 vf28 and a 75 shot
The turbo isn't your hold up. You're going to make, what, at most 230-240 whp off 8 psi and a conservatively fuelled 75 shot? The small exhaust side will flow enough - gas compresses.
Meh, you really have a setup that's super hard to do anything with without actual tuning. Stock fuel pump, with upgraded wiring, will do 300-325whp no problemo AT stock fuel pressure. With fuel pressure jacked to the moon you'll be lucky to get a controllable 250 whp, and will eventually lose the engine running in that area. |

Re: d16z6 vf28 and a 75 shot
12:1 FMU and 41 psi base (stock) pressure: 96 psi at full boost.
10:1 FMU and 41 psi base (stock) pressure: 80 psi at full boost. You have two other things to worry about. Recommended jettings are very conservative, plus the fact that your turbo isn'y as volumetrically efficient as other common turbos means you will probably still be too rich... unless the fuel pump doesn't like the high pressure and fuel pressure fades. Good luck, check your plugs frequently, don't forget to retard that dizzy. |
Re: d16z6 vf28 and a 75 shot
yea i'll just pull the gass jet back 4 sizes go from a 20 to a 16
cool thanks. my dizzy is retarded right now set like this say these are the timming marks on the crank ---- ---- ----__ my timming is retarded to here so where ever that puts me |

Re: d16z6 vf28 and a 75 shot
oh yea hey i was going to send you a pm about the turbo but i lost the pm from you in the past and couldnt rememberyour screen name (i get hit in the head alot).
turbo works great full boost at 2400 carries to red line in first and second. falls a pound or two in the top of 3rd and 4th. you get your coil overs ? |
Re: d16z6 vf28 and a 75 shot
I have the same turbo, how do you think it would be a a B20?
|
Re: d16z6 vf28 and a 75 shot
A turbo is not a B20. Thanks for playing.
