d16a6 build up?
Well, I've ran in to $3k (inheritance) and I'm looking for suggestions for my build up.
The car: 88 crx si, needs some body work. This is my secondary car, not looking for a strict track car though. It doesn't take too much to be street legal in Kentucky, and the emmisions testing is gone in a few months.
What I currently have in my possesion (I was in the middle of piecing together my kit)
S-afc, dsm 450 injectors, hf exhaust mani, tyrus ic, walbro 255lph pump, 2g dsm bov, mbc, d15 head w/ 3 angle valve & si cam (from 90 civic), and a second d16a6 w/ trans from a 91 si. (all I can think of right now)
I'm working on finding a t3 but I'm kinda concerned w/ the issue that Abaz had w/ turbohf"s WG. I have been planning on running an internal gated turbo for the time being. The plan currently is to beef up the secondary d16 but the only thing I plan to do so far is eagle rods, some arp head studs, and use the d15 head. I'm considering sleeving. I'd like to be around 8 psi near the beginning of the project, how high I go will depend on how I feel it's going. I can see it now....BOOM "well hell, it was fun while it lasted" :P
Some of this money is gonna be used for urethane bushings ( gonna have my dad press them in @ work), body work ( needs new rear qtrs, and some paint, everything will done by my friend and me so it's virtually @ cost), and other small odd things.
Lets just say that $3k will be more than $2k to play w/ .... lets see what you have for me.

Re:d16a6 build up?
i find there is a thin line where u gotta go b series if you want serious power.
personally i would take the 3k and buy a b18c and u already got half your turbo ---- already so put it on that, because the b18 will handle more boost and run fast.
and if your destined to run SOHC. then get it sleeved/pistons/rods. and boost 20psi

Re:d16a6 build up?
I plan on staying w/ the d16 for the reason that I can get parts free/cheap all day long. I'm very hard on my cars so I like to have the extra parts around. As far as sleeves, I hear darton(?) makes a good set but how about the cooling issues? It looks like they extend into the cooling jacket ( the pics I've seen are not in a block), would that cause problems w/ cooling the head?
