Re:d15b2 turbo setup good or not ?
It will work, probably none of us have ever used that turbo on that same engine, But the turbo is very small, and I have used similar turbos on that engine, and it will spool pretty fast. As far as what the wastegate is set at, I have no idea.. could be 5 could be 10. You can get a vacuum/boost hand pumper with a gauge and put it on the wastegate actuator before you start the project, to get an idea when it will open.

Re:d15b2 turbo setup good or not ?
damn, its my evil twin!
exact same engine, exact same turbo....hmmm anyway, before i blew my clutch, the turbo was a great size for the engine, spooled up at around 2300rpm and i was getting boost by 2800rpm. and the boost climbs quite fast being that its a small turbo. i only ran 5-6psi on my engine because of some exhaust leak problems, and my engine ran like a champ with that boost pressure, and im sure it could have taken at least 7psi. even with the 160k + miles she had on her. |

Dan - how did you deal with the exhaust housing?
if that's the Te04h from the Chryslers, the exhaust outlet points in a bad place... for a front mount turbo .. I'm just curious on how it was done b/c my friend has that turbo, and we were trying to figure out how to make it work. -Henry |
Re:d15b2 turbo setup good or not ?
i unbolted the exhuast housing that came stock on the turbo and used it to cut out a new flange from some fresh metal. and after that all i did was weld up a mandrel pipe to the flange and routed it under the car.
same concept as making a custom exhaust manifold. |

Re:d15b2 turbo setup good or not ?
when i had my setup it was this:
TEO4H turbo with stock internal wastegate Stock CRX HF exhaust manifold HKS racing blow off valve Custom Adapter plate Bilit check valve Audi FMIC Custom intercooler endtanks Autometer boost gauge MSD FMU(overboost.com) Autometer air/fuel gauge Autometer dual gauge pod Mandrel bent charge pipes and downpipe K&N Air Filter K&N BOV Cleaner the engine was the stock 1.5l sohc dpfi and stock fuel pump and injectors. i was basically seeing how long till the engine blew so i could get a swap. i was running low boost so even at 5psi or 5.5psi it held up nicely. and i wouldn't suggest running any more boost without better fuel management. |
Re:d15b2 turbo setup good or not ?
i have a d15b2 as well wat would happen if i swap the head with d16a6 head and swap to multiport will it be just as good as a d16?
planning to be boost with 14b at 6 psi with fmu and pump |
Re:d15b2 turbo setup good or not ?
The A6 head flows better than the B2 head.. It'd be a good swap. As for the MPFI swap, make sure you have all the information on it, because it can be a difficult swap if you don't have the mind for the wiring. But otherwise, it's pretty straight forward.
