D series project questions

I am aware that some of these questions have been asked before but after about an hour of searching I didn't really find much pertaining to my situation. So here goes, all help is appreciated.

I have a 1997 Civic EX w/60,XXX miles on it. It has been exceptionally well taken care of and I run full synthetic oil and change it every 3,000 miles. On to the questions...

I have or will be getting these things within the next two weeks:
14B Turbo
Turbo Manifold
Intercooler w/ piping
Boost Guage
BOV
Downpiping
Oil Lines

Questions: I will be using a Vortech FMU with this setup. I see people talking about 8:1, 12:1, etc... What should I use with this setup?

This turbo has an internal wastegate, I have to run 2 seperate pipes out off of the turbo area, one for the downpipe and the other for the wastegate? Or am I wrong?

I search and I read but I get so many conflicting things I dont' know what to think. Thanks in advance for all help.

Ok, first i would run the 12:1 for the fmu ran great for me(look into chipping or something so much better aka uberdata, te.)and as for the wastegate, run the wastegate right into the downpipe, its a little tricky but nothing to crazy to make. Infact i have a 12:1 fmu, hit me up if you want it. good luck

Well I am OBDII so I can't do uberdata and I don't really have the money to do a good OBD-I conversion and then uberdata so I guess I will go with the FMU. Thanks for the help.

fmu=garbage.. and with a stock 14b wastegate set at 8psi i think that mite be to much boost to run a 12:1 fmu.. that mean your fuel pressure will be at 12x8=96+your already like 42 psi fuel pressure.. =138psi @ 8ps boost..

someone correct me if im wrong.. i never used a fmu and dont plan on using one.. this is just what ive read..

id go uberdata if ur on a budjet.. or save more money before you turbo your car.. or you mite end up with nuthing.. just my .02

personally im going to be using a 14b on a d16z6 @ 8-10

originally i was gonna use uberdata but i changed my mind andd am going with neptune.. 450cc inj, 255lph walbro intank

Re:D series project questions

my car is also OBD 2 and i have uberdata. all you need is a conversion harness that is $78 at jdmsh!t.com and an ecu that is $120. that is alot better then the $200 vafc and wouldn't even consider an fmu fuel managment.

get a chipped ECU

fmu=fucks motor up
