Cutting the actuator

My problem is, since i have solved modifiying the PCV system in my B16, my boost has raised significant. I mean i use internal wastegate and my boost was fix 7psi (and i want 7psi, btw), but now it spikes up to 12psi, falls and stall at 9.5psi. It seems i can not length the actuator more. Is this boost raise normal, what do you think?

I was told, if i can't turn the rod out more, cut it a bit. Have someone done it here before? If i do it can i really fasten opening the wastegate (and get lower pressure then)?

Re:Cutting the actuator

You can do this. get a tap/die set. cut about 1 inch out of the actuator arm, and thread the ends to mate into a tube you tap to the same thread pitch. What that does: each time you rotate the actuator arm it will raise or lower the tension on the wastegate. if you want to lower your boost, make it so the wastegate can open easier(lengthen then arm between the diaphram and flapper)

Can you post photo about this how it should look?

Re:Cutting the actuator

cut your actuator in the middle, then cut 1/4" off an end of the actuator rod. thread both ends and they sell these small nut tubes at home depot. ti just looks like a small tube in the shape of a nut. a realy long nut.lol. it's threaded inside so you can thread in both sides of the actuator rod that is now cut and threaded. then you twist the rod out to lengthen it some more. there use to be a picture of it in the FAQ but it aint there no more.

Re:Cutting the actuator

I have managed to extend my actuator. But it spools very slow now. :( I get the desired ~7psi at 4800rpm only! I got it at 4000rpm before... What can i do to spool faster? It's very annoying... ???

Re:Cutting the actuator

get a new actuator that already has the desired boost level. or an electronic boost guage set all the way to "hard"
