Cuts in my TURBO MANIFOLD!??
Alright, for those of you who hated me for posting just a link in my last topic, this time will be different!
So I purchased a TPC a/c compatible turbo manifold from someone on egay. Long story short, the manifold seems fine besides some VERY wierd cuts...yes...cuts, not cracks. It seems as though the person who owned it before me intentionally cut between each individual runner on the manifold. My question is: Is this even usable still? If it is, what is the purpose of cutting like this? Any info would be helpful - thanx a million HMT. https://photobucket.com/albums/v283/...atnut/th_3.jpg https://photobucket.com/albums/v283/...atnut/th_4.jpg https://photobucket.com/albums/v283/...atnut/th_2.jpg https://photobucket.com/albums/v283/...atnut/th_1.jpg |

Re:Cuts in my TURBO MANIFOLD!??
Those cuts are there to relieve the stress from heat expansion. It doesn't harm anything. But I'm only assuming cause you suck at teh intraweb. ;)

thanx for the info ;)

Re:Cuts in my TURBO MANIFOLD!??
they're called stress cuts. like whitey said, they are there to let the piece expand and contract as temp changes to help prevent cracking. very common thing on turbo mani's.
