Custom Turbo Setup gona bad....

IM having some problems with my setup, one of the problems is that i have a t25 on a mini me and it isnt spooling til around 5,000 rpms, im not joking. another thing is when it does start to boost, it cant, its like it hits some sort of rev limiter or something, but i have 3 good check valves hooked up the the map senser, i just dont know if there hooked up right, and every time i try to boost it throws the map sensor code, but the check engine light doesnt come on. so if you guys could help me by trying to explain this to me about how to route the check valves please help me out i cant stand driving around like this thanks -ben

really odd, check for any leaks on the charge pipes, and check your boost gauge for nay leaks too. I'm pretty sure a dinky t-25 should spool by 2-2.5k. You got leaks buddy

Re:Custom Turbo Setup gona bad....

i think i figured out the late spooling problem, but the problem is when it spools it hits some type of rev limiter
How many check valves should there be? Is there any other way of getting around the map sensor??

As for the "limiter" as you put it...what is your spark plug gap set at, and what is your timing set at and what does your setup consist of. As for the map code I don't see how you know its throwing a code if the CEL isn't coming on.For the late spool there probably is a boost leak somewhere or you are restricting flow with a bad filter(rag) or something. Elaborate on your setup a little so we know what parts you have.

im betting its a fuel prob (for the "rev limiter")

Im running a vortech 12:1 fmu, and im using a hf manifold with an adaptor plate, it sounds like i have an exhaust leak but im not sure. oh im thinking it could be some bad spark plugs wich i will be changing tomorrow, because it will boost just fine when the car is cold, but the sputtering is only when it warms up. im also going to take out the turbo tomorrow and check all the bolts, make sure everything is tight, ill get back with yall tomorrow on how the problems going

also... do your motor a favour and don't boost when it's cold!!

Re:Custom Turbo Setup gona bad....

Re:Custom Turbo Setup gona bad....

The ecu advances the timing when your engine is still in warm up, that is why you should not be boosting. did you do a tune up before you started all this?

Re:Custom Turbo Setup gona bad....

Ive got most of the bugs worked out of this setup so far, the problem with the sputtering at top end was the timing, it was off i guess. the problem with the horrible lag was the wastegate wasnt shut all the way, the only problem im having now is the check valves, im going to read up on the missing link and thats probably going to be the next add on to the project, i appreciate the help guys. -Ben
