Custom Intake Manifold Drawing
So I'm working on a custom intake manifold for my acura cls and my friend's civic si. Does anyone know how to find the hole dimensions and bolt locations without tearing all the junk of my block to get to the mani? I've been looking for a part drawing or schematic that for the stock manifold but I can't seem to find anything. Am I stuck with taking off the mani and tracing the correct size and dimensions?

But a freaking intake gasket

haha true.. what he said :P

no reason to be a dick about it...are all the people here asscakes???
Thanks for the quick response though. |
Where's the pic?

Step 4 - Fuel Rail fabrication.
There is a way to get measurements. A good idea would be to go to the junkyard and find a manifold. They are typically only $15. You could also check ebay. Is that a B series engine? Whatever it is, you could find something like this http://tunertools.com/prodimages/Hon...18C5_large.jpg take two or three really good measurements and exrapolate out to scale. That would be much more work than taking yoru manifold apart and tracing it. |
yah true. I think i'm just going to take it apart this weekend or something. The reason I need the dimensions is I have to make a CAD drawing in solidworks before I begin. The gasket seems like a good idea if all else fails but I think that taking it apart would work too. The honda v6 is just such a bitch to take apart because the manifold is gigantic.
Here's some pictures of the manifold that a guy on acurazine took out with the injector base on the far right, I don't know how difficult it was for him: http://www.flwse.com/images/steve/In...anifoldAll.JPG http://www.flwse.com/images/steve/In...foldBottom.JPG http://image.motortrend.com/f/857490...e_Bay_View.jpg |
if that's your car, I would just wait to buy a true set up, but if you got money to blow, then I think it's cool and fun to make something no one else has
|
really? that's a nice car to HMT.. lol.
