Attachment 37494
This is the room i got to play!
Attachment 37495
Here is the manifold in the fitting process.
Attachment 37496
And here it is completed!
Attachment 37497
Another one.
Attachment 37498
Here is what it look like with the turbo attached to it ! It is really tight!
Attachment 37499

It is now completely fitted and ready to tig weld i will be doing this tomoroww in the morning i will post some other pics soon!

By the way there is a Gt28R turbocarger to go in there!

Very nice man!!

It's good to see some yota boost up in here.

What's the rest of your setup consist of? Can't wait to see how hard it will rip. O0

Re: Custom built 2ZZ-GE Turbo kit!

The setup is:
Engine Toyota 2ZZ-GE Engine (11.5:1 Compression) :) The car run alway on 94octane gaz!
I have got aq CCA 24X6X3 Intercooler
Since the VVTI cam lift use a closed loop control, i can't go with a Standalone engine management
so i have use the PerfectPower SMT6 to control the timing and 2 X 550CC Precision injectors.
I have a TurboXS blow off valve.
I'm planning to put 7psi it should put abour 240-260 whp depending if i can put it on the dyno before the winter!

Re: Custom built 2ZZ-GE Turbo kit!

one question , why mild steel. stainless els are only like 20 cents more a piece...

Speedy2k 10-15-2005 07:43 AM

Re: Custom built 2ZZ-GE Turbo kit!

That'S only because i don't need it to be in stainless at all, this manifold isn't visible from the engine bay, and this is cedule 40 piping so it will never break! And in strainless i need a tig welder! and i don't have one i have a mig! This is one my friend who will tig weld it and if i want it in stainless, i will have to pay him all the process only to make some tac!

hotrex 10-15-2005 07:46 AM

Re: Custom built 2ZZ-GE Turbo kit!

your wrong. i weld stainless with my mig almost every day.

also sched 40 is way overkill. sched 10 would never break. but regardless good job

Re: Custom built 2ZZ-GE Turbo kit!

That looks awsome!!!
I love my PP SMT-6!
You know vvt works by sending oil pressure from an OPS to the vvt sprocket to spin it. You can do original vvt-i (0* advance, or 30* advanced) by just triggering the OPS via a relay through your orange wire relay trigger.
You can accomplish vvt-i (0 through 30* advance) by pulsing the OPS solenoid.
That's the only difference.

You could use an injector controller to pulse an OPS! (With lots of tuning~!)

If you swapped to an SMT-7, you could upgrade the injectors & retune the lambda to keep thes tock ECU happy. Then use the injector driver to try to do your own vvt-i.
You would also have the neat stuff like wideband based lambda tuning, PWM bleed valve boost control, launch control, SMT-7 based closed-loop, 3 triggerable outputs, 3 analog tuning maps (I would do MAF + oxygens ensor + road speed sensor)

and all the toher goodies.

I wish I could swap to a 7. :\ Only downside of the 7's is that their injector drivers is weaker. The 6's can drive one low imp, or 6*16ohm. The 7's can just drive the 1 high imp injector. (so just buy a large injector, or use analog+lambda+large injector tuning)

Ok so here is a little update to what have been done.
Installed the 2 550CC injectors, installed the MAF sensor in the piping, and fitted the charge pipe from the TB to the intercooler and installed the intercooler at is place! So here is some pictures of it!

Looks really really good!

Questions about this Perfect Power SMT6/7 -

Can you only add injectors for boost, or can I use... let's say dsm 450's and just scale it for when I'm in/out of boost?

Also, how limiting is it as far as how big of injectors I can go? I like how the SMT7 has better wideband tuning and FTR control.

For your question yes you can scale for larger injector! But with this setup i want the off boost portion to be like stock that's why i have put an extra set of injector to be used only in boost! I don't know exactly the size you can go but the my seller have tell me then i can go 2X the size of my original injectors!

I doubt youll make 260whp on 7 psi. youll probably make 200 whp on 7 psi.

Re: Custom built 2ZZ-GE Turbo kit!

he should make 260 at 7psi...

the xrs makes 180hp stock i think less to the wheel of course...

my corolla with the 1zz engine not the 2zz makes 221 @ 7 psi and its base is 125 hp....

55 more hp stock id see him in the 260's easily with 7 psi

Speedy2k 10-24-2005 05:20 PM

Re: Custom built 2ZZ-GE Turbo kit!

Yeah i have see some other similar setup and they make between 240-260whp at 7psi and with the add-on of a water injection, they put it at 12psi and get over 300whp!
