ct26 turbo on z6
I just recently got a toyota ct26 turbo from a friend of mine, this is going to be my 1st turbo project and i was wanting to know if 10 psi on my d16z6 with stock internals would be ok or should i go with around 8, the guy i got if from had it on a b18 and he said i could run 12-14psi all day with no probs.....but like i said this is my 1st turbo project so ANY info/help would be great..
Well, what is it off of? Is it single entry or dual entry? Celica or Supra (if it's single entry).
Well, there's no reason your z6 could not handle 10 psi (assuming it's in good condition) if you tuned it well. It's a decent turbo, and if you already have it, go for it. Do note that the only other turbos that will fit those flanges are the CT20 and the CT20B. The CT20 is comlete ----, but the CT20B is a JDM turbo, and it is VERY nice, holds up to 17-18 psi til redline. On a normal CT26, it starts to lose it after about 13 psi.
Good luck.
PS. read the FAQ.
