If you want to be boosted in the next few months, I'd say set aside about $700. I'm 90% done with a kit for my 90 CRX si, I've been collecting/researching for almost 2 years now. My biggest hold up was good engine management, but that's here now with PGMFI/TurboEdit so I'm gonna be boosting here in the next month or 2..

durden, dude, that quote was waaay off. I think you were thinking about the D15's. The D16's HMT's cost 1726.53 to complete last time I checked. You will also need to add sales tax for your state.

Dude sounds like you have a TON of stuff to research. Dont expect to be spoon-fed any information. Do you want us to install it for you too?

Time, Research, PGMFI.org, Money, Research, homemadeturbo.com, Sanity... That's what it will cost you. Did I forget anything?
I am 99% done with my 90' HB, I will post pic's sometime next week, I hope.
Of course, expect the unexpected.
I wish I would have found this site first, so you are in the right spot. I bought most of my stuff off e-bay. Now I need to sell some stuff, because of not researching enough.
HMT Rules! All the info is here, just use the search.

BTW, I will be donating soon, both to PGMFI and HMT

The best way do research is check the faq and read what people put on this site. Also ask around about turbo's. Honda Tuning put a hmt kit on a crx in the april 03 magazine. I'm new also i just started reading some of the things i see on this site, so just take your time an read. It's all worth it. ;)

Re:crx turbo

A lot of ss autocrap merchandise is crap. There where issues about manifold being cracked, which seem to have been fixed but not for sure yet, and some of the turbo's they sell, are bad combo hybrids and the customer service is crap. On ebay when they usually say JDM it is just false advertisement, and usually stuff sell for more than it's worth, people that don't know better bid on those. Ebay can be a great resource for parts, but you need to do homework and know what you are getting before bidding on anything.

Welcome to the site, there's tons of information here to help you out. It might seem overwhelming first but everything will start making sense after a little while. I have spent probably around $1000 on my setup. It might be more or less, but the good thing is that you know what you are getting, and you have a choice of buying the parts you really want. Unlike turbo kits wich give you a standard option and are mostly overpriced for the parts you get.
Again welcome and enjoy HMT

he's right, you have lot of research to do. Nobody will have time to answer all your little questions that have been asked for thousands of time since the begining of honda. Read the FAQ, do search.

Re:crx turbo

you could buy a kit like this, and get boosted this weekend...or add to this kit. ITs an awsome deal! You can find it in the For sale section...
This would be an awsome way to start out. Its pretty much everything you need.

T25 turbo(nice condition,little shaftplay)
adapter plate
gaskets
all bolts
hf manifold
2g eclipse bov
intercooler(side mount)
-4 an stainless braided feed line w/ adapter
Greddy Turbo timer
boost gauge
downpipe(92+ civics w/ no crossmember)

You will still need piping and fuel management.I'm asking $400 obo.Let me know.Pics will be available upon request.Shipping will be determined later.

Geez, is it really this cheap for you honda guys to boost your cars? Man I wish. I invested at least $4,000 into my setup.

haha well I figured as much, at least for the price of the cars. But I figured kits were still around the same price what most are for my car. so seeing you how you can buy a decent kit for around $1k, I wish I woulda known that. Sadly im on a budget too. Man modding a not well liked platform hurts :(
