crushed first gen BOV?
 

i've heard a few things that a crushed BOV can be used to hold more boost but i've also heard that it'll make the BOV sound louder??? is the louder part true??? thanx

man ---- you my guy just said that if u crush the ---- it'll make it louder but i'm pretty sure its just gonna make it hold more boost thats all man

"my guy"? is that like "my mechanic"? Not that 17 inHg isn't alot when considering the opening of the DSM valve or anything. Crushing it requires even more vacuum. ::)

In my experience with other BOV's, I would assume that the DSM will be louder crushed. I could be wrong, it's happened once before.

it would be louder but not reccomended if running lower boost

The DSM bypass takes close to 17 inHg to start opening in the first place. With boost pressure this number drops somewhat but is still high. Crushing it only makes it worse.
