Default cracked 14b

I got a 14b with very little shaft play, some blue tops, and a sidemount in a trade for a FMIC that I got for free. This is def a budget build just to turbo the little d15b until my lsvtec is done...I was cleaning the turbo today and of course saw a crack on the exhaust housing where the mitsu star is, and then 2 more cracks on the flapper area. Since its obviously cast, and in a hard to get area and I only have a flux mig i really cant do anything about this can I? Should I bother looking for another housing? With some ARP studs I plan to push the d15 pretty hard...but will those cracks in a sense make a "boost leak"?

I would take pics but I only have my cell at college with me and not the digi.

The WG cracks will only make it spool slower. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

you can hit those up wit flux, if you can get in there to grind them smooth so the flapper will still seal

I wouldn't even bother. I had a 14B that ran perfectly and when I pulled it off it had basically the same three cracks. two inside of the exhaust housing on the wastegate hole and right inside the inlet. Then one on the outside right where you said. Boosted fine. I wouldn't laid a bead down cause that cast housing is gonna have a different expansion rate then that of the fluxcore and if the housing expands and the weld breaks loose from the housing kiss that turbine wheel goodbye. Just leave it is my .02

Hell... stay away from jb welding anypart of the hot side of the turbo. You will die breathing the gas that jb puts out when it gets cooked. JB welding the downpipes of an NA car can kill you of the smell, nevermind the turbo thats 10x hotter.

heat the housing with a rosebud torch till red hot, then mig that ****** with flux then grind it smooth, also remove the flapper for the wastegate
