crack in exhaust housing ?'s
Is it normal to have a crack in the exhaust housing on a turbo? If so or not are there any downfalls are problems that could arise or what? Thanks

Re:crack in exhaust housing ?'s
its not good. usually means its either been thermally cyled to death not cooled down properlyy or is shitty cast iron. however it can be saved. drill the ends of the cracks out and have the crack welded up. with any luck itll last a while longer.
good luck |
Re:crack in exhaust housing ?'s
it's a hairline crack on the outlet to the wastegate. The turbo is also a rhb5 mx6 turbo, if that helps any?

Re:crack in exhaust housing ?'s
drill holes at each end of the crack 2x the width of the crack. then have the crack tig welded shut on both sides is possiable. the hole will relieve the crack and help to keep it from ------ing.

Re:crack in exhaust housing ?'s
hairline cracks are very common. Some people decide to fix, and some don't. It's hard to say if it would really hurt performance all that much. :-\
