A couple questions regarding my HMT project
My basic set up is going to consist of a D16Y8 as a base with an HF mani, RHB5 turbo and MKIII supra FM intercooler. Is anyone running a similar setup? Wondering how you went about mounting the intercooler and running the charge pipes. Does anyone know if stealthmode makes oil feed/drain kit for the RHB5? And what injectors are going to be the best route for direct installation? H22 Injectors plug right in? Thanks For your help

Re:A couple questions regarding my HMT project
check the tech projects. they show how to fit bigger injectors. the charge pipes have to be measured and cut to fit using mandrel bent aluminized ehxaust tubing. and stealthmode has the oillines for that turbo. if he doesn't he'll get it and fast too. for the charge pipes, just eyeball it and figure out how many exhaust bends you're gonna need. then mount the intercooler and start measuring and cutting away at the charge pipes. put the charge pipes together with duct tape in the shape where it'll fit your car and intercooler. then take it somewhere to get welded.
edit: in the tech link he used a spare intake manifold, i didn't have one so i put on some thick home depot gloves so i wouldn't grind my fingers off while holding the inj. seal and went to town on the injector seals with a dremel. here's the link to the injector install: https://www.homemadeturbo.com/tech_p...ors/index.html |
Re:A couple questions regarding my HMT project
Get some DSM injectors, a resistor box, convert to OBD1, and the Uberdata can own you too. www.ecimulti.org/uberdata

Re:A couple questions regarding my HMT project
how exactly do you "convert" to obd1? What all does that include? Is that just the ecu?

Re:A couple questions regarding my HMT project
You convert to OBD1 by getting a conversion harness and an OBD1 ECU...pretty simple, but the harnesses can be a bit pricey, so look around.
