Couple of Questions before boosting

Sup, im getting close to boosting my 2.5L V6 engine. im going to run a 12:1 FMU for a few months then buy a megasquirt for it. i got a good deal on some stuff, thats why im using a FMU. Plus they seem to work well on my car. 1) question: since running a FPR and a FMU, would it be a good idea to have a fuel pressure gauge in the cockpit of the car?? 2) question: i have a SAAB 900 turbo, made it to external wastegate. it doesn't say the specs on the turbo, but i was wondering if this turbo is a good one to use for a first timer and will it get me to the 225whp mark.

i wanna say the saab turbo is a fairly small t3 imo its a little small for a 2.5l v6. also what car is this? and fmu and fpr is a decent combo while its running take off the fpr hose thats what the fp will be when it crosses into boost your fmu takes over then. good luck

The saab turbo definitely seems like it would be too small for your v6. But hey, you'll have fun being in boost very quickly!

true lol. im sure with a month of boosting i will want to go boosting

with a saab turbo you will be in boost at idle and will be doing nothing but blowing hot air into the engine by 2,000

LOL, i doubt that. but i do get the point of being in boost failry quick. but the 80's Nissan 300zx V6 turbo uses the same size turbo and they are a 3.0 V6 SOHC.

well size has nothing to do with efficiantcy at all man. go ahead and put it on and then post up how much you hate it once you take it for a drive and you blow up the car from detonation from the extremely high intake air and choked exhaust flow through the turbo. also the 300zx turbo is not a good car to make comparisons with considering it was slow and hit boost right away and choked up top from a small turbo

i heard nothing but good things about the 300zx. mind showing me a link of someone saying that to prove me wrong? i know a guy who used the same turbo i am on his 2.5L and he said it was fine. ran it like that for 2 years. spoiled up quick, but it just ran out of breath in top end

well if you are set on doing that then do it dont know what else to tell you
