Is this correct
The aim of shortening the actuator length, is to make it so the internal wastegate flapper is slightly open, hence lower boost?
Thats what i perceive it as. is that right? Also, my oil feed tube is about 4-5mm's.. about um, 1/12 of an inch , wide. Will this be to much flow to the turbo or should it be sweet.. Cheers. Ill post some pics up soon as im almost done. |
Re:Is this correct
shortening it does make it slightly open, but mostly it makes it open sooner.
as for the oil feed line, that should be fine dont worry.u could prolly even run 1mm feed line and it would be fine, its the drain line that has to be nice and big :) cheers |
Re:Is this correct
shortening the wastegate arm (as in leaving the actuator in the same place but making the arm shorter) will RAISE boost. It will put more tension against the flapper which will make it not open.
If you want lower boost, you need to lengthen the actuator or move it closer to the wastegate housing p.s. Shortyz is a tool and LOVES the cock |
