does it matter which hose i cut and loop through the turbo on a y8 intake manifold?theres one commin off the back the engine that goes to under the intake part of the mani and look like it goes out a piece to the back of the tb.

the one going to the bottom front of the intake is already cut with a hard line connecting the 2 hoses cause the hard line is molded together with a vacume line i had to hack off and re-run when i installed my ebay intake temporary cause its gona be my charge pipe

just take off the hard pipe and use the two hoses to the turbo, and just bypass the T/B all togheter.

does anyone know why most throttle bodies are cooled anyway? I'd think that the coolant would actually heat it, no?

that pretty much the reason. it is so they dont freeze

its not so much as so they dont freeze, but for gas mileage. think about it... the engine is cold...15 degrees outside...solid chunk of metal with a few vaccum passages...not gonna freeze, its metal, and coolant isnt keep it from freezing. once the car gets to opperating temp. it pushes HOT water through the throttle body and heats it and part of the intake mani. up decreasing the density of the air...allowing less air to be packed into the engine...that lets the ECU cut back on fuel and bam better fuel economy. thats an old time carb trick. take some copper tubing and coil it up inside your air cleaner and hook it into the hot side of your heater system and it heats the air going into the engine. of course u gotta cut back on the jetting because carbs dont do that their selfs ya know...

yah this good. but you can also just put in a T on this line. but flow kinda goes to ---- after the T is in place. so you can do either

do the coolant lines on the tb need to be capped or anything if you remove the hoses to use them on the turbo?

they dont HAVE to be but if you want to, hell im sure you couldand it not hurt it. but all it is is a passage for water to flow and heat the throttle body, nothing more

I was thinking of making my a/c of some good use and running the hoses coiled in a pipe that's larger than my charge piping and weld it in on the way from the intrclr to the TB. I think it might be a good way to cool the air and make it pretty dense
