coolant lines how close
i was wondering if i could run the coolant lines about 1 inch away from exhaust housing on the turbo; reason being i dont want to run them around the motor;and also do they even need to be hooked up
Running anything close to the exhaust housing is risky. I would keep them as far away as possible. You don't need to run them, but it helps cool the turbo off quite a bit. It's your call on that one. I hate messing with coolant lines on turbos. I would rather the turbo have a shorter life than my cooling system be compromised by a giant amount of extra heat, but that's just me.

yea if u wanna cool the turbo... just make sure u do it right and give it space or get stainless lines for the area around the turbo. Fyi alot of factory turbo cars werent water cooled.. so obviously its not the end of the world for the turbos lifes
i don't feel like running my car every time I stop to go in someplace, and I don't have a turbo timer. Not even sure if I can use one with my remote start setup, so I'm using the water lines. I don't think it'll screw up the cooling system any more than the ic does. Oh well, one way to find out. If I don't like it, I can always pull the lines.
