Coolant evaporating after turbo install. Any suggestions? :(
I installed my turbo this past weekend. I ran coolant lines to it connected to the TB and the engine (right behind valve cover).
Well since installing the turbo my coolant has been evaporating. I've refilled the radiator + bottle twice in 3 days. Its getting to a point that i have to refill after driving at all... I dont think its leaking cause i have yet to see any coolant on the floor of my garage. Any suggestions? :( :( :( |

Yeah, no way it could evaporate that fast.
If your car still has the cat then you can't tell as much. Get rid of the cat and then your exhaust will tell you what's up. Compression check that bitch too. If you see two cylinders next to each other that are low - bad head gasket. |

Yeah i just checked today. Car is giving out lots of white smoke at idle. It is also spitting out liquid from the exhaust.
Plugs are black with carbon cause my map is rich and i didnt get a chance to tune it yet. What caused the headgasket to blow? Boosting 10psi (dsm t25) on a stock d16z6. |

heat usually cause gaskets to blow
check ur rad fan if it works and get some arp studs when u change ur headgasket for a little more security |

yup i blew mine the first day I had my setup on a couple of months ago. That bitch was pushing coolant out of the overflow and overheating a bunch. I changed the headgasket and installed some arp studs and the problem is fixed ;D.

Unfortunatly my broke ass cant afford ARP studs (i've seen them for about $110). :(
Think new headgasket and stock studs will hold? Once i get it on the dyno and tuned that should help also right (tuning myself). |
