compressor surge butt bov opens a little
>:( what up my compressor is surging at higher boost levels but the blow off doesnt sound like its letting off too much relief air when i let off the throttle. i hear both the surging and a little bit of the bov. what should i do too get rid of the surge so the bov is alot louder likeits working properly?

i have the type s with a nipple on the top and on the side and it is ajustable. it shouldnt surge at all right.

what are you using for a vac source? Where is the BOV located?

i have a 1995 d16z6 with turbonics t3/t4 external waste gate by turbonics type s bov. my bov is t'd at the fpr. wastegate is to the compressor nipple

Hmm the FPR should be good but maybe try it off og a diffeent one to see if there is any difference I like the PCV since its a nice and big vac port...I'd also try and mess with the adjustment maybe lossen it up a bit? a real type s or knock off?

its a knock off .it used too not work at all but i cut 2 rings off the springs in side it and it works a little know. what do i do with the pcv valve then

I wouldn't be suprised if it just dosn't work but maybe take it apart and oil it or something, I just "T" it off of the PCV vac line...my friends knock off would leak/whistle all the time, i think maybe 1 out of 5 is bad :P

ya cause at idle it is open a little bit but as soon as there is no vacuum it should close right. i take the vacuum line off when it is running and it closes all the way. then when i put it back on it opens a little. shitty bov or do you have any suggestions

Can't say I have had any real experience with your problem but I think you might want a longer spring that is not as stiff ??? that will keep it closed at idle and maybe allow it to open better in boost...I am trying to picture how the type S work internally and that makes sense if your original spring was to stiff you cut it for some slack and now it seems to be too loose...HTH |
