Compressor surge
I just installed my turbo kit witha tial 50mm bov and it doesnt open in time. i get compressor surge and i cannot hear the bov open. i am runing a precision SC50 with 2.5 inch open dp for now
how can i stop this? i have the correct spring in the bov also, maybe i should try a lower setting spring? |
Re: Compressor surge
What do you mean by the correct spring?
Do you have the lines hooked up correctly to the wastegate? |
Re: Compressor surge
yes i do i have the nipple of the turbo connected to the lower line on the wg. Tial bovs have certain springs that you need to run depending on your engine vac at idle. i had measured mine and chose the right spring for it. Idk why it wont open quick enough, maybe i should try the less tense spring. i have the 11 psi spring in there right now im going to try the 9 psi on i guess next

Re: Compressor surge
HE WITHER HAS IS ARESE BACKWARDS or he has a intake main leak, do you rev high at idle? what did you tie the vac into?
|
Re: Compressor surge
the 11psi spring is the right one for most 4 cyl cars. take a pic of your setup

Re: Compressor surge
although i heared many people had to replace the 11 psi spring by a lower pressure one in order to make the BOV open.

Re: Compressor surge
You should connect the BOV to the manifold AFTER the TB.
How much boost are you running? |
