compression ratios?

hey guys just doing a bit of groundwork here, what compression ratios are you running on your motors? and how much boost/ what methods of intercooling/aftercooling are you using.

at the moment i'm running 0psi on a GM C22SEL (obviously not a honda) with a compression ratio of 9.6:1

Re:compression ratios?

9.5s 9.6, and 9.7s are what most honda engines run at stock, 9:1 is a reletively low compression ratio for N/A 7s and 8s are what most stock turbo cars use. 10,11,12 is high for compression, not the best engines too boost, although it helps you retain low end power too, haha.

8.4/1 D16Z6 block/ D16A6 head 9-13psi.
Never knocked, 10+psi by 3000rpms, and vaccum is only present on the interstate during cruising.

Re:compression ratios?

Jeff is running like 11.6 something on his twin turbo ls/vtec (check out the sticky at the top of the forum).

The stock turbo vehicles keep it kinda low, since they have to maintain customers warranties, and have women for drivers (j/k girls).

I think the eclipse turbo is at 8.5:1

I was about to make my sbc in the 11.3:1 range (more torque yo), but I think I'm going to chicken out and keep my stock shitty 8.5:1 - ---- paying .20 extra cents per gallon on my gas guzzler, not to mention the current setup/heads on it are just fine.. I need to stop staring at this pretty rv cam on my desk and install it.

Re:compression ratios?

DSM's 1g had 7.8c/r and 2g had 8.5c/r

the Evo's have/had 8.8c/r on the 4g63's

I think a mild c/r is 9.0 for a decent FI setup
