compression ratio for turboed integra
 

Well, my buddy just blew his headgasket again while trying to get his afc tuned right. (4 times this year. Only once while tuning the afc tho) Anyways, I've been telling him he needs to get away from that high compression so he can quit detonating. What kind of compression are you guys running on your turbo cars, and how much boost are you running? I figure anywhere in the eights would be liveable but hes set on staying in the 9's. Am I crazy, or is he? Hes going to do a complete tear-down of the motor this time and build it right and I'd like to hear some of your opinions. (It's a 92 integra motor). Also, when we go for new internals, should we adjust the CR with the pistons or the headgasket, or does it really matter? he's got a fresh head that we'll be throwing on the car so we don't have to deal with a head thats ever been milled before. He's also thinking about dumping the super afc and going with a the hondata setup. For the money envolved in switching the management systems, is there a better management system to go to? Thanks for any help you guys can give us. Also, how many of you guys run water/alchol injection? pros/cons of this type of setup?

I would definatly stay in the 9's if you are going to be doing a rebuild. Once you guys get the car tuned right you wont have problems. remember you guys are not using any type of ignition device to retard the timing as it boosts.. :-\

Hondata & AEM are great systems that are plug and play for your buddys car. I highly recommend them.
