Stock D16Z6 are known reliable at 225-240 whp. I think they are good for more, but people need to be more sensitive to heat soak since it's a small bore engine.

alright so i decided to just get a bigger head gasket since i have to get a new head gasket anyway. what c/r do you guys think i should run? and i am also getting arp head studs.

If you do vitaras, get some rods. The stock rods are the weak point.

i need a new head gasket because the owner of the engine had taken the head off already.

well im rocking a stock d16z6 botom end, with 180k miles on it. Im boostin 9psi, on a garrett t3to4e 50 trim, and im sure im over 200hp.
not going to go dyno a winter beater set up but, id bet iv cleared 200hp.. i do have a built head, cams and skunk 2 IM.. |

D16Y8 headgasket is the cheapest, from the dealer, and fits right on.
