complete rebuild problem

I just finished rebuilding my D16a6, it was bored out new pistons, rods were checked out and all new bearings, After I got it running I sent it to my garage to time it correctly. after they timed it it developed a huge nock. They have suggested it might be a rod bearing, How is this possible any suggestions. I have the car home and the pan off but not the rods yet. Is there anything I should be looking for? I planed on putting my turbo on next but This is now delyed me.

This could be possible because of contamination, dirt, particles in your block as you assembled it. As of now you shoudl be grabbing each of your rods where they hook to the crank and see if any of them have excessive clearance. Or pump pressurized oil into your main oil gallery via the pressure sender hole and watch where the majority of oil is leaking out from.
