Comparing b to d exhaust flanges

How close do b-series exhaust and d-series exhaust flanges match. Say if I cut the flange of the b-series tubular mani and welded on a sohc flange would it match up pretty close or be quite abit off and not worth it.

you can port a D manifold (Greddy) to fit on a B head.

This is where I need Mr Weir to chime in and lay two flanges over each other! lol. I'll have to PM him. I was thinking the same thing about the greddy mani mod but thats with cast so you have more material to work with when porting it and since I'm just gonna cut off the flange and weld on a sohc flange how would the runner match up?

has to be port matched also, likely the cast had plenty of room.

Yeah but I planning on getting a short tubular b-series mani and cut the flange off and weld on a d-series flange so porting on tubing isn't really an option. Know what I mean Bone?

finding the right place to cut on both setups so they will match will be a bitch. You'll likely have to pull/bend a few tubes to line up for welding. This could make a stress point and later a weld failure point.

So, will you be saving any money for the POSSIBLE headaches??????

BTW the 5g HB with swapped LS on Greddy kit went 12.91 @ 108 mph :)

I'm sorta at the same point for the AKSC header I need to build. Find a D header with smashed primarys and build of it.............six of one, half dozen of the other.

Yeah I know what you mean about finding the right place to cut. Well I'll try to do something else instead of that.
