co2 purge valve???

i have a quick question. i was thinking the other day about the NX Ntercooler and would it be the same thing if you used a 10lb co2 bottle and hooked it up to a nitrious kit purge valve (no nitrious just the purge valve), and just purged it onto the intercooler before racing? would that even work?

that may work, but you would purge it into the intercooler while driving, the nter cooler kit works just like nitrous but shoots a blast of cold air into the i.c., it doesn't just cool the i.c. off so that the temp is a little cooler. if that was the case we could put our i.c.'s in the freezer before we went to the track ;)

ummm....the Ntercooler doesn't inject nitrous INTO the cooler just externally. This way you get the cooling benefits of Nitrous but without having to add extra fuel to account for the nitrous in the system since the engine never ingests the nitrous. The reason why people inject nitrous close to the intake valves is because fuel injected intake manifolds are not designed to flow liquid (even vaporized nitrous is still a liquid) only air. doing so can cause puddles to form in the manifold resulting in an unreliable mixture of nitrous/fuel. boom

that's what i was saying, you don't actually get the nitrous, but you get the cooling affect of the nitrous, but it's a short blast, like nitrous, not like cooling off your i.c. and it stays cool

so would it be worth it? what would be the differance of useing co2 and nitrious?

Yeah co2 will work also. It's probably less expensive to fill the bottle too.I also read somewhere that the Ntercooler kit can be filled with either Nitrous or co2. Actually I'm looking into getting one of those kits too.
Good luck.
