Close to crying.

Ever had a problem so frustrating its got your crying.
Im there.
Ive read all the books. All the posts. Nothings worked.

THe problem. ---- loads of white smoke that just geting worse.

THings Ive done.
1. Replaced the head gasket cause you guys said it must be a blown head gasket.
2. Put an oil restrictor in cause you said it may be that.
3. Checked for oil in the charge pipe and intake pipe none.
4. Changed the air filter cause somebody said it may be that.
5. Done a leak down chk and a compresion check.

Opened the mufler and theres a lot of oil / carbon.

Took it to a local car guru. His view
The valves will leak oil under high boost.
But this is a new engine with under 10,000 Miles on it.
THe heads where CNC surface ground a few microns and the valves checked just before puting in the turbo.

Now what. ???
Its white smoke but smells like burnt oil.

One doubt I have is the level of oil in the oil pan.
The spigot is welded at the abs top of the pan I cant get it any higher.
Yet when I pull the turbo oil return line oil pours out of the pan. So I let it drain out.
And pluged the turbo oil line back.

Doubt 2.
I know its not probable but could I have mixed up the oil and water lines on the turbo.
Will post pick pls have a look and see if its ok.

Re: Close to crying.

white smoke is from burning coolant.

few questions for you:

-did you have the block surface checked? just like a head can be warped, a block can be warped and will cause the same effects
-how long has this turbo been in and running? if you mixed up your oil/water lines on the turbo it would seize up rather quickly i'd suspect. be besides that it'd be hard to mix up the oil and water ports on the turbo.

is it white or a bluish white? maybe your block needs to be decked

Re: Close to crying.

start by double checking everything .. check all your vac linies.... i was just having a problem with my car ... Idleing like ---- and blowing out a ton of white smoke. Finaly saw that my vac line was off my wall mounted map sensor. Plugged it back in and walla... everything goes away

Do you know if it is your block or the turbo? Run the car with the turbo off. This should have been done before a head gasket replacement.
Good Luck

Re: Close to crying.

are you sure the turbo is good? I had all kinds of wierd smoking problems and my turbo felt good, so i was like wtf? So then i took it apart and the oil drain inside the centersection was coked up near the turbine...So i scraped that ---- out of it and problem solved 8)

Re: Close to crying.

Its not the coolant thats for sure. We striped the head gasket it was intact and no chance of a leak. Its a company orignal Gasket. Top quality.

Oil spurts / flows really well thru the oil out line.
Ive drained the oil pan i.e. opened the conection let all the extra oil in the pan above the oil return line drain out.
Then pluged the turbo drain pipe back in.
Smoke has come down quite a bit. But my dip stick is showing Oil Level dangerouslly low. There are two dots on it. One for min. one for max. The oil level is just above min.
Maybe I need a new oil pan which is deeper.

make sure your pcv is not hooked to the boost

Re: Close to crying.

I notice the smoke at all RPMs even when its just ideling.
Suspect the oil pan cause when I pull out the turbo return line oil shouldnt leak out of the oil pan right ?

If it is that only means ther is oil in the pan higher than the return line.
