Default cleaning turbo

i took apart my T3 today just to clean it up a bit, when i took off the turbine housing i noticed a bunch of little black flakes(looks like carbon) come from under the bell shaped cover between the turbine wheel and center section.

is this normal or is something bad going on under there??

its probably from oil buring or carbon, myn was burnt oil, just spray some degreaser on it and wipe it off and ----, its normal from a old turbo. maybe use a scrub brush to get it all off. then put it back together, if it was bad and had shaft play and ---- then get a rebuild kit, and get the turbo balenced, well the wheels and shaft at least. have fun, ive done this many times and its not hard, just go to a machine shop to get the balanceing done, like a deisil truck shop. -blake
